Early Accepted is the share of all submissions, not of accepted papers. Avg Review Score is plotted as percentage of that year's scale so it stays comparable as the scale changed over the years (1-9 → 1-8 → 1-6); the raw mean on its own scale is pinned at the top of the panel, and the whiskers show ±1 SD. The last panel, "Does Rebuttal Help?", is the share of reviewers who crossed the accept/reject line after the rebuttal. Only the years that recorded a post-rebuttal verdict qualify. Note: subject-area taxonomy changes over time

MICCAI has renamed and re-merged its subject-area list almost every year, and in 2025, there was a major change: papers had to pick a tag from each of six groups, one of which is a body region, so the median 2025 paper carries five tags versus three in 2024. A tag can therefore grow a lot without the research growing at all.

Two examples: (i) "Abdomen" was an optional tag in 2024, used by 31 papers; in 2025, it is part of the required body-region group and 174 papers contain it. (ii) "CT / X-Ray" is one 2025 tag, where 2024 had a CT tag and no X-Ray tag at all. This means that year-on-year jumps are higher in 2025 than in previous years. For example, the largest rise from 2023 to 2024 is 2.6 percentage points, against 16.8 from 2024 to 2025. Therefore, any 2025 jumps in the two charts below should be read as a consequence of the change in subject-area labelling first.

These charts merge the obvious renames, drop the catch-all tags, count all of a paper's tags rather than just the first, and show an area only if MICCAI used it in all five years. That last rule is why Image Reconstruction has no panel: MICCAI appears to have removed the tag in 2025 and those papers are now filed under other names.
